This a story about an event that the New-Park Lions Club put on called the Spring into Action Event. It included a silent auction and Gold Swap was there to buy silver and gold. The proceeds of the event went to Stone Soup Thrift Shop and the Friends in Need Food Shelf.
The Canadian Pacific Holiday Train made its 10th anniversary stop to Cottage Grove on Tuesday, December 11th. In addition to performing live music from Ontario's very own The Claytones, the Holiday Train also raised over $116,000 for the Friends in Need Food Shelf. In the 10 years the Holiday Train has made its stop in Cottage Grove, over half a million dollars has been raised!
This is a benefit which goes on in Newport every year at Clover Leaf Bar in Grill. The benefit is done in memory of Kaitlyn Berg who lost her life in an automobile accident at the age of 4. Her parents chose to done her organs to help improve the lives of others. Kaitlyn ended up saving the lives of three others, including two children who were younger than her. All the proceeds of the benefit goes towards LifeSource.
