From October 4 - 8th volunteers gathered at the HealthEast Sports Center to pack meals for hungry children around the world.

The Powers Lake Townhome Association participated in the Woodbury's 2017 Water Efficiency Incentive Program. The association completed audits of its irrigation systems and updated the irrigation controllers from clock-based systems to WaterSense certified “smart” controllers. It also installed two soil moisture sensors, providing detailed information to the controller about how much moisture is in the ground, allowing the system to operate only when necessary.

The Woodbury Fire Explorers Post is dedicated to introducing young adults to the technical and team-oriented skills used in the vocation of firefighting, rescue and emergency medical services (EMS). The group meets on most Monday evenings throughout the year. For information on the post, email fire@woodburymn.gov.

On October 11, 2018, Woodbury and Cottage Grove city officials broke ground for the East Metro Public Safety Facility. This joint project between the two cities will be constructed next to Cottage Grove City Hall. It's expected to completed in the fall of 2019.
